I took part in a study tour to Cambridge last summer holidays with other students from different forms. I was excited at that time. We visited many famous British landmarks such as the King’s College Chapel, Bridge of Sighs in Oxford and Harry Potter Studio.
We were led by Isabella who was a student from the University of Cambridge. Once I talked to her during lunchtime, I learnt some ordinary British culture that I never heard before. For example, the British say 'please’, 'thank you’, 'sorry’ a lot even when they don’t mean it indeed.
She also introduced the requirement of admission to the University of Cambridge. That motivated me. Her elegant temperament inspired me to become a better student.
What I found the most meaningful about this trip was the chance to experience a drama performance course at the University of Cambridge. By learning to perform plays by Shakespeare, we not only engaged with the English language in a much more dynamic and enjoyable way but also gained valuable insights into its theatrical culture.
